The Learning Collective has provided a wide array of support to Central Michigan University’s Center for Charter Schools.
In 2023, we collaborated with Venn Education to significantly update CMU’s high school academic accountability framework. In 2022, we also collaborated with Venn Education to develop a white paper to assist CMU’s 57 charter schools in their post-COVID transitions.
Since 2018, CMU’s Center for Charter Schools has hired The Learning Collective to be the sole external expert to serve on panels to evaluate new school applications across Michigan. We have evaluated approximately 20 of those new school applications.
Our work with Central Michigan University is one of three engagements in Michigan – our first was evaluating schools in Detroit. We also partnered with the National Charter Schools Institute on a project on behalf of the Michigan Department of Education.
