The Learning Collective has partnered with Academy of the City (AoC) on a number of projects since 2014 from board development to charter renewal application assistance to school quality reviews. In 2016, we facilitated and produced a three-year strategic plan – a robust process described here. In 2017, we worked with AoC to develop staffing models for its middle school expansion. In 2020, we worked with the board and school leadership on transition planning and related organizational development. In 2021, we continued our work with AOC, including school leadership coaching as the school transitioned between executive directors. In 2022, we led the development of a new strategic plan for AoC. In 2023, we assisted AoC on securing another successful renewal and supported on a range of other needs including curriculum adoption, school culture improvement, leadership transition and board trainings and development, and strategic plan implementation and monitoring. In 2024, we supported Academy of the City on a range of needs including: student-led classroom discussions; school culture improvement; school leader evaluation; board evaluation; board retreat facilitation; strategic plan modification, implementation and monitoring; and student recruitment campaigns.
