Logo_main In 2015, from dozens of national vendors, the Washington State Charter School Commission selected The Learning Collective as the lone national representative to evaluate proposals for new charter schools.  The Learning Collective was chosen, in part, because one of the proposals was a blended learning model.

From 2017-19, we continued our partnership with the Washington State Charter School Commission through evaluating new proposals for charter schools and advising the Commission on authorizing best practices. In 2019 we built a process for the Commission to screen new application evaluators including a performance task that mimicked the real evaluation process. In 2020, we were the Commission’s team lead in evaluating four applications for new charter schools.

In 2022, we led the academic evaluation of an alternative model high school. And in 2023, we supported commissioner trainings, evaluated authorized schools’ operations and provided ongoing technical assistance on evaluating the academic program of that alternative school for the Washington State Charter School Commission.
